Along with land resources tense gradually in our country and building lands in short supply, there are a lot of cases to add layers in original architecture, all of which make building strengthening industry have rapid development. Widely attention is paid to theoretical research and engineering application of building strengthening by scholars, experts and engineers all over the world. Previous studies had shown that, whether increasing section method is used to reinforce old reinforced concrete members or not, there is hysteresis stress in joint surface between old section and new added section.Due to hysteresis stress effect, reinforcement engineerings are required to unload before construction as far as possible, and measures are used to resist shear of joint surface between old and new part, which make old and new part to work together possibly and to reduce the hysteresis stress effect. Structure strengthening theory research is extensive at homeland and abroad, and there are also any more studies of unloading incompletely cases. But it is not known much about the theory under increasing loading in structure. In view of it, this article combining research achievement of structure strengthening, the problems under adding layers before structure reinforcement are discussed through a specific project in this article.1 The identification and reinforcement module of PKPM software is used to analyze and compared three kinds of reinforcing schemes, namely "increasing section method", "outsourcing angle steel method " and the "increasing section method+outsourcing angle steel method". By comparison with the technical indexes and economy of three schemes, the third scheme is chosen.2 The whole model of the structure is established with structure analysis software MIDAS/GEN and SATWE. Stress performance, deformation and bearing capacity of the structure are analyzed. Through analysis and comparation of two softwares, the safety of structure is sure.3 The software MIDAS/GEN is adopted to analysis each adding storey process and normal use phase analysis of newly adding part of the structure. The internal force regularity of original members is analyzed and the initial stress indexes of original members are calculated in each process, which determines that strengthening original structure after adding layers is viable.4 Using finite element analysis software ANSYS, the reinforce column which is strengtheninged by increasing section method is analysed. The stress state of concrete column is analysed before and after strengthening. It is found that there is hysteresis stress and strain obviously between old and new part. This paper puts forward the new-old concrete interface should strengthen shear structural measures in order to make work together.5 The specific problems of the reinforcement project are tentatively studied, including stiffness equivalent of the concrete columns, the problems of fireproofing and anticorrosion in reinforcement project and the foundation reinforcement problem. Foundation bearing capacity improves by 27% after years of use, so it can add layers directly with original foundation.
