As pipe pressure, corrosion, aging and other factors, the phenomenon of water supply pipes burst often happened. It's seriously affect people's daily lives and waste resources, which requires personnel to develop relevant off valve programs to repair, but how to develop off valve program, which become increasingly difficult because of complex pipeline networks, and after we developed the off valve programs we often found that the valves in off valve programs are damaged or can not strictly closed, so we need to re-develop the off valve program, which seriously waste repair time. In order to better manage the city's pipeline, and effectively develop the off valve program when the pipeline burst, we need to use GIS technology and computer technology into this field.There are main two methods to analysis pipe burst, the one is the analysis of pipe burst based on graph theory, and the other is the analysis of pipe burst based on flow direction. The analysis of pipe burst based on graph theory is based on computer technology in the graph theory and using the theory's breadth-first search to find the valve that should be closed. After we develop the initial off valve program, we also need to optimize the initial off valve program that need to removed the valve that can not closed, and eventually get the optimal off valve program.The analysis of pipe burst based on flow direction combined with computer technology and GIS technology, the method is based on ArcGIS Engine, .Net technology and using GIS component technology (ArcGIS Engine). Water supply network geographic information system use C # language to develop, this paper is mainly to describe the pipe burst analysis in details.The analysis of pipe burst based on flow direction in urban water supply network first needs to set up flow direction. When the flow direction of water supply network is sure, we can find the optimal off valve program. The realization of the water flow direction needs to set up source or sink to establish the flow direction, so that we can get each edge's flow direction and then determine the relationship between the flow direction of each edge and its digital direction. We can use unique value render to symbol each edge. The implementation of water flow direction is important in pipe burst analysis and pipe plug analysis. In this paper, we described the two analysis pipe burst methods in details.
