Evaporation condenser is a kind of heat exchange equipment; it has been widely used in refrigeration, power, chemical industry, food and so on. Because of its many advantages and tense water sourses, now we consider its application in steam condensing of steam feeding water pump for thermal power plants which brings good energy-saving effect and big economic benefit. So the study has important significance.A set of millions of directly air-cooling unit steam feeding water pumps with evaporation cooling as condenser plan is designed. Then we use variable condition and numerical simulation calculation methods, through the calculation results we understand the variable conditions, the fluid flow characteristics and heat transfer characteristics among bundles.Firstly, through the thermodynamic calculation method, we calculated the extraction flow of small turbine, heat transfer of evaporation condenser, and inner steam condensation heat-exchange coefficient, wall to water film of heat transfer coefficient, water film to air coefficient of heat transfer and mass transfer coefficients we finally determined heat exchanger area. According to heat exchanger area, we arranged the bundles for fork row layout. According to the air speed and area, we can obtain the air quantity, and then pressure drop which comes from air flow through evaporation condenser, and determine the fan model.Secondly, we arrang scheme and consider the heat load of evaporation condenser under the invariable condition, separately analysized influencing factors of the inner steam condension temperature and the evaporation capacity of the spray water and variable conditions. We discussed air wet-bulb temperature, working water jet capacity, wind speed, the temperature of cooling water for two variables influence. The variable condition results show that with the air temperature increasing, the stream temperature inside tubes increases. However, with the water quantity, velocity of the wind and water fill temperature increasing, the stream temperature inside tubes decreases. With air velocity increasing, stream temperature inside tubes increases and the quantity of evaporation increases.Finally, by using FLUENT, we adopt numerical simulation method to calculate the fluid flow characteristics of evaporative condenser. We deeply understand the fluid flow characteristics.
