Exhibition cartoon mascot, an imagery which serves the exhibition as an important complemented element of the logo, is always made used as one of publicity methods. Nowadays the study on design and operation of exhibition mascot, together with the practice, is making progress step by step. However, a corresponding visual evaluation system is still need to consolidate the process of designing, launching, mass opinion retroaction and experiences collection and summarization. Those involved elements should take organic operation and mutual influence in a frame with the feature of comprehensive, integrity, orientation and open to indicate the principle of practical, offering a criterion to participants of exhibition mascot operation. By the investigation and survey of 2010 EXPO mascot operation and relative data, based on theories of aesthetics, sociology, psychology, Mass Communication, from viewpoint of designer, sponsor and audiences, the article has established the exhibition mascot visual evaluation system in approach of social investigation, web data searching and theoretical analysis. The exhibition mascot visual evaluation system includes three evaluation modes and fifteen indexes such as formal beauty, symbolic, emblem and so on. Then the article negotiated the existing problem and anticipated the exhibition mascot visual evaluation discipline to a certain extent to prove its scientific nature, gave feasible suggestion to the mascot design and operation at the same time. The system offered practical consulting tips to help promoting the mascot design quality and refining the operating mode, also it has supplied the possibility of exhibition mascot visual evaluation quantification.
