Hybrid Electric Vehicles(HEV) combine the advantages of conventional engine-driven vehicles and pure Electric Vehicles(EV). Drive Motor and Power Electronics Drive System being the main departments of HEV, play great important parts in HEV development.The structure of HEV's motor driving system is researched in this dissertation, after analyzing the traits of different motors, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) is choosed as the drive motor. Combining the requirements of HEV's motor driving system, the strategy of maximum torque-per-ampere control and maximum power flux weaking control is proposed based on the mathmatic models of PMSM. When the vehicle is at the start, acceleration, climbing and other conditions, the maximum torque-per-ampere control strategy is adopted to meet the requirements of larger torque output, when the vehicle works at high-speed or short-term overtaking, the current control strategy of maximum power flux weaking is adopted to meet the requirements of high power output.The model of PMSM vector control system is simulated based on Matlab/Simulink, Test-platform has been build with TMS320F2812 micro-chip as its controller, which is specially designed for motor control by TI company. The hardware and main drive circuit of the control system are designed, program of software function mold is written in C computer luaguage.Finally, the experiment has been done for the research. Results of the experiment and simulation indicate that vector control system of PMSM designed in this paper is reasonable in HEV's motor driving system, and can meet the demand of motor driving system basically.
