Add layer of steel is a gradually being promoted form of housie consolidation and transformation.It has gradually wide range of applications in the country.But there is also inadequate in design methods, generally only the portion of the Canadian-layer design calculations. However, after adding layer steel structure, the structure's overall mass, stiffness, period, damping ratio and so have changed, especially in the Canadian-layer steel frame with the original roof junctions, lateral stiffness mutation, easy to form a structurally weak layer.Add layer's stiffness than the stiffness of the lower part of the original structure is small, easy to form when the seismic response whiplash effect caused by earthquake damage, so the seismic response of such structures is essential.In this paper, fully absorb the learning at home and abroad in recent phase of research results on the TMD, based on the proposed structure, the top of the set of the seismic response of TMD control structure. Since the introduction of TMD has changed the dynamic properties of the structure, under the action of the earthquake spread to the main structure of energy consumption and reduce the seismic response of the main structure to enhance the seismic capacity of the structure.In this paper, finite element analysis software SAP2000, the establishment of a certain four-story reinforced concrete frame structure added after the two-story steel frame model and the top is set in the structure tuned mass damper (TMD) before and after the multi-event of seismic time-history analysis under the action of analysis and comparison. Considered the sub-structure and the main structure of the damping ratio ofμchanges and layout of the form of TMD, has been the event of an earthquake in a multi-structures under top-level displacement, the top-level acceleration, peak displacement levels, parameters such as inter-story drift angle.The results show that:Set TMD to the structure after the displacement of the peak levels can be lowered, especially the top floor displacement of the peak to reduce the most significant; top-level acceleration peak is also significantly reduced.
