| Under the circumstances of sky rocketing international oil prices and constantly enlarged national oil import, oil consumption is on the spot light all around the country. But from the aspect of national oil transportation, ocean transportation security is under the severe challenge due to the shortage of national fleet and massive employ of foreign fleet, further the lack of oil sources and political instability of major oil export countries.The article mainly discusses following three aspects:the first is national oil production and consumption structure, which is analyzed through statistics of national oil demand, production and import. The second is present ocean transportation security situation, which discuss the proper proportion of national fleet and oil import, introduce the major imported oil trade routes. The third is national fleet introduction and competition, which focus on the oil transportation fleet and shortage of capacity, apply the SWOT to find solution for upgrade of fleet competitiveness.Through detailed analysis of all the questions, there's quite a long way in order to ensure the security of the imported oil transportation. As for the Chinese ship owners, it's important to accelerate the enlarge of VLCC fleet and improve the shortage of supply in order to occupy the market share at the first stage. As for the oil companies, it's important to follow the national policies of energy transportation and create strategic cooperation with Chinese ship owners with high standard of safety inspection and management. As for the country's energy authority, it's important to support the combination of Chinese oil companies and ship owners, also diversify the import oil sources in order to obtain the smoothness and flexibility of the oil import.
