| During ship design and construction process, the different enterprises often choose different CAX systems according to their requirements. So, it becomes very important for data sharing and conversion between different systems. The proposal and implementation of STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data) not only solve the problem of the effectiveness of product data in the product throughout the life cycle, but also sovle the problem of data sharing btween various systems.In this context, the study is carried out step by step to design a pre-processor used to convert the compartment data from TRIBON system to a neutral file. The major work is as follows:Firstly, analysis and studies on STEP are done in the paper, including the development and architecture of STEP, EXPRESS language, and the structure of neutral file.Secondly, application protocol AP215 is interpreted deeply in the paper. The construction of application protocol, the key concepts, scope and UoFs (Units of Functionality) of AP215 are also introduced, which make provision for further research.Thirdly, after in-depth study of the compartment data file exported from TRIBON M3, according to the protocol select the right entities, and determine the boundary representation used to describe the geometric information.Finally, adopting the neutral file exchange method and basing on AP215, the pre-processor is designed. The compartment data is converted to a neutral file. Then transmit the neutral file to ST-Developer, and the feasibility of the pre-processor system is verified. |
