The main engine control system is not only an important part of the engine room automated system, but also is one of indispensable equipment in the modern ship. At present, the main engine control system of the most ship is still adopting the pneumatic control and the mixed control of the electric control and the pneumatic control in china, the control system is overstaffed, the command response is slow, the security is low.The monitoring of damage control can ensure the safe of ship, but now many ship is not fit the monitoring system of damage control in china. Aiming at actual condition of the main engine control system and the monitor of damage control in china, this paper introduced a system for the main engine control and the monitor of the damage control on the basis of the programmable logic controller.The hardware of the system use the CJI programmable logic controller of the OMRON company, the programmable logic controller is approved by the register of shipping of the most country, the programming software CX-Programmer of the programmable logic controller realize the logic function of the main engine control that include the switch of the controlling way, the starting,running,accelerating,decelerating,halting and emergency operation of the diesel engine, etc.A set of man-machine monitoring interface is designed.The monitoring equipment of the monitoring interface adopts the NS programmable terminal of the OMRON company, the programming software adopts CX-Designer.The monitoring interface has the functions of monitoring,alarming and controlling to the monitored object.The monitor of damage control is designed.when a damage happens,the monitoring system sends out the sound and light alarming signal,displays damage types and damage location, and can attach to alarming bell system., according to the control mode and damage types of the ship, the monitoring system can automatically startup decreasing-disaster system or the operator manually startup.A kind of controller adopting fuzzy control algorithm and PID control algorithm are researched, the simulation model of the system is set up on the basis of the SIMULINK, the simulation is done for the model, this controller is more sensible reaction, more short transitive time, more powerful capacity of resisting disturbance and more outstanding stability, it is more fitting actual requirement.The manufacture of the prototype and the debugging experimentation have been accomplished.The experimental results indicate that the system was steady, and all the designed targets were achieved.
