Large-capacity generator, remote transmission corridors and series compensation device will work together to form a significant and typical large-capacity long-distance power transmission mode. In this transmission mode, the series compensation device may cause the system subsynchronous resonance problems, threatening generator security and network stability. To avoid risk of SSR, in this paper, we take the Yimin-Fengtun 500kV TCSC transmission system for an example, focus on the impact of TCSC on SSR, which mainly include the following:(1) Research the control system of TCSC, establish a time-domain simulation model of TCSC; simulate under different operating modes, and verify the effectiveness of TCSC time-domain simulation model by comparison of simulation waveforms and waveform recorded in Yimin Power Plant.(2) Establish a TCSC subsynchronous frequency impedance haracteristics model, calculate the TCSC subsynchronous frequency impedance under different modes, described the mechanism of resistance and the inductive mechanism of the henomenon that TCSC restrain SSR, and verify above theoretical analysis by the simulation example of Yimin Power Plant.(3) Establish the TCSC linearized equations which can be the interface with the system eigenvalue equation, analysis the impact on SSR of TCSC by calculating the system equation eigenvalue in two different conditions, and verify the correctness of the TCSC linearized equations derivation by comparison of the results of the simulation and the eigenvalue analysis in the two conditions.
