Research On The Relationship Between Furniture And Architecture Space

Nlike descriptive scientific experiments and philosophical thought, design is explanatory. When a concept is constructed to make non-arbitrary decisions, summarizing related experiments and seizing current design concept are needed to make a rational mature decision and simplify plans and designs.This paper presents a detailed review of the design history home and abroad and contemporary design ideas to probe into the furniture design concept from architecture space point of view. The factors of architecture space of furniture and user who is the hinge on the relation of furniture and architecture space are mostly highlighted in this paper.Consistency between the development of Chinese traditional construction space and furniture design evolvement, decoration style convergence between western ancient furniture and architecture, and reference and historical values which contribute to expanding furniture design thought can be achieved when traditional principles of architecture and furniture design home and abroad are studied.In reviewing the influence of twentieth-century western architectural trend on modern architecture design, this paper especially sums up the design concept and design methods of each design master of architecture furniture at every stage. Valuable studying and summarizing are beneficial to widening the thought and varying the style of current furniture design.Chinese furniture design experienced a process from "Shanghai style" to "furniture unit concept". The purpose of this paper is to borrow excellent design ideas from this process to solve the design problems in the development and new problems at present.The result of this paper is obtained through summarizing the experiences from senior designers home and abroad and through getting acquainted with design development of Chinese furniture. And the result is architecture space can be the object that furniture design may mostly refer to. Architecture space can make the design works of furniture get the greatest value and help designer create infinite design value in limited scope. Through analyzing many design cases, the above result is proved on the one hand. On the other hand, this paper proposes the conception and theories of furniture design based on architecture space, shown as follows:â‘ relying on the dimension of space to rationalize the function of furnitureâ‘¡grasping the inter-relations of space to set the characteristics of furnitureâ‘¢perceiving space patterns to create the variety of furniture.
