| Along with the rapid growth of the highway mileage in our country, highway plays a much more important role in the transportation domain. In order to fully display the ideal characteristic of highway which is "fast, efficient, safe, comfortable", and to enhance the overall benefit of highway network, the construction of highway intelligence transportation system is urgently needed to be accelerated. Advanced technique is utilized to realize reasonable regulation of traffic flow, therefore it enables the traveling capability of the entire highway network system to achieve the optimization.This article unifies the construction and application situation of the highway supervisory system in Shandong Province. It involves the method and technology of specific realization of the three key parts of supervisory system, which are information collection, information management and information diffusion. The application of new technology, the enhancement of system scale and the complexity, with the coordination of the traffic flow control theory, could fully play its role. This article studies using the supervisory system to carry on the traffic flow control, thus it enables the highway operation ability to obtain a full display, and then achieve the goal of raising social efficiency and promoting economic development.This article's research work is as follows:(1) The analysis and research of the traffic flow control theory, and then formulates traffic flow control policies in the different situation.(2) Makes an analysis to the highway monitoring system, elaborates the functions of each constituent, as well as the operation flow of supervisory system.(3) Elaborates in detail the realization method and technology of each constituent of the supervisory system by unifying the highway supervisory system construction and application in Shandong Province.Finally it comes to a conclusion of the whole article, and then proposes further tentative plan and forecast on future research work.
