| Due to the low price, light-weight and excellent compression properties, the corrugated fibreboard is a widely used green packaging material, much favored by the market. Corrugated box is made from corrugated fibreboard by slotting, indentation, folding and so on. As transport containers, corrugated boxes should have sufficient protection capacity for commodities to resist deformation and damage.Therefore the compression strength of corrugated boxes should be estimated pre-production. However, at present the strength design of corrugated box is mainly dependent on the experience and is lack of a systematic and deep analysis, so the theoretical study on the compressive behavior of corrugated box has very important practical significance.The compression strength of corrugated box mainly depends on the compression strength of corrugated fibreboard and structure of corrugated box. In this paper, the raw material is first analyzed, testing ring crush resistance of 160 g/m2 tissue paper,105g/m2 core paper and elastic modulus of corrugated fibreboard, which provides a foundation for the study of corrugated box's strength.Starting from structural mechanics, corrugated boxes will be decomposed into four corrugated fibreboards to research. Based on existing structural and mechanical models of corrugated fibreboards, the mechanical properties of corrugated fibreboard are analyzed and then the basic buckling equation of corrugated fibreboard is established. As for the case of corrugated box resistance to damage, the corrugated fibreboard of critical buckling load of four-side simply supported and non-loaded sides with elastic restraint on rotation is analyzed, establishing the mechanical analysis model of corrugated boxes, deducing the compression strength formula of corrugated box.Through the theoretical analysis and experimental verification, in the common size of box, the model of corrugated box can better predict the trends of compression strength with height and length-width ratio, but the theoretical curve of perimeter Z has a certain deviation with experimental trend, the model remains to be further amended.The issue provides a theoretical basis for calculating the compression strength of corrugated box and reduces empiricism and roughness in the design process, which has an extent of significance and practical value. |
