Model experiment is an important means of solving the new structures and complex issues. The results of the model experiments on bridges are able to response intuitively to the operating condition in the course of bridge construction and after its accomplishment. It also has an important significance in deciding of the design parameters of the bridge structure, as well as optimizing and improving the construction technology.Aizhai Bridge has employed the scheme of"using cable for the delivering and girder-erecting", which was a new construction technology. In order to optimize and improve some crucial details of the scheme, it is necessary that we conduct a model experiment to study the structure changes in various stages of the construction. This paper has systemically studied the following aspects of the model experiment on Aizhai Bridge: the purpose of the experiment, the specific designed contents, the fabrication and testing system.This thesis has systemically studied the following aspects of the model experiment on Aizhai Grand Bridge: the purpose of the experiment, the specific designed contents, the fabrication and testing system. In order to meet the need of this project, the researcher has decided a model of 1:33 on a reduced scale based on the actual conditions in the lab. The meticulously designed main saddle has precisely imitated the curves of the saddle guidance from the real bridge. It can also imitate the launching construction of main saddle in the work progress. After careful consideration of every influential element in it, the researcher has chosen the steel wires which are in the same parameter with the real bridge, thus lead to the favorable results of the design of the main cable. The special trolley, the saddle and the cable can also meet the need of using cable for the delivering and girder-erecting. What is more, the stretching of anchor cable and the regulating device of located anchor cable can also satisfy the model experiment's need. In order to make the boundary conditions satisfied in the model experiment, the researcher has done a simulative analysis of the data and has done an optimized design of all the buttresses, which ensured the required precision of error. This model experiment has combined the actual conditions and the testing systems, and is favorable for the required testing and precision.
