With the rapid development of steel industry in China, The emissions of iron ore tailings increase year by year, the existing iron ore of the national is about 500 million tons totally, which has brought a large number of problems related to resources, environment, security and land, and the utilization and exploitation is Extremely urgent now. On the other hand, sintered clay bricks continuous misappropriate land resources, causing a lot of environmental problems. Finding the alternative material of the clay bricks, promoting sustainable development is an important issue. The purpose of this paper is to use iron tailing materials, a kind of industrial waste, to develop unburned bricks (UFB), which can be used in road works and construction. The paper use iron core tailings, coming from ChaoYang city, mixed with a certain proportion of gravel, cement, curing agent, and by using orthogonal method, designed five groups of experiment. After that,we used isocratic pressing and mold release conservation methods, prepared UFB tailings standard brick, which size is 240mm×115mm×53mm.We analyzed the index of variance and significance of the parameters, sorting each parameter qualitatively and quantitative. At the same time, we determined that when iron content in tailings is 70%, graded gravel content is 20%, cement content is 10%, TLS02 rate of curing agent content is 2%, water is 10%, forming pressure is 18MPa, the test targets will be the best, and we can get MU20-grade iron tailings unburned bricks. The paper also analyzed the mechanism of the three stages of strength formation, and described the economic benefits of the UFB at last.
