In early stage of design process ,design features, quality, characteristics, customization and environmental friendliness, the cost and delivery time and so on are important factors for classics maintain competitive. The idea of Adaptable Design(AD)is introduced to the design of Zero-speed Splicer. Based on the general principle of AD, The Zero-speed Splicer has been divided into the structure of function modules, he platform structure, the AD module design, the fitness evaluation. the thesis is as follows: The first chapter discusses splicing technology status and development ,and automation requirement of the printing machinery;The second chapter describe AD, and relevant studies of AD; the third chapter describes the product adaptability and design process of AD; The fourth chapter introduces detail design of Automatic Zero-speed Splicer Machine in AD; The fifth chapter discusses method to measure the degree of product adaptability in reliability and reusability; The last chapter summarizes the thesis and gives some prospects.Automatic Zero-speed Splicer Machine is the key auxiliary equipment for printing enterprise, and is to the benefit of automation of printing machinery. Based on market research of packing and printing industry, it is meaningful to make a study of Zero-speed Splicer Machine and establish a design process for it in economic value and academic value. The innovation point and contribution point are that the paper had established the adaptable design process for Zero-Speed Automation Splicer Machines, and developed Creative structure for the specific problem in design process according to AD.
