With the development of modern functional polymer, the importance of research on chiral functional polymer has become increasing significant,and chiral polymers have been widely used in material science, biochemistry, medical and many other aspects.In this paper, use five L- chiral amino acids and a D- chiral amino acid as chiral source, a variety of chiral polymerizable amide monomers with different structures were synthesized by the direct reaction of the amino acids and acryloyl chloride, methacryloyl chloride and 10-undecenoyl chloride, respectively. Several purification methods were applied to the product, the most efficient synthetic routewasobtained.All of the monmers were fully characterized by FI-IR, NMR and elemental analysis. The reaction mechanism for the synthetic monomer was studied and the optimum conditions were discussed. When the polymerizable monomer was obtained, use the resulting chiral amide compound as monomer to synthetize chiral polymers with amide aide groups in the presence of AIBN as an initiator. The reaction mechanism as well as the optimum conditions were analyzed and their properties were characterized.At present, the research of synthetic chiral polyamides based on chiral amino acid focused on the protection of carboxyl or amino group and the synthetize of amide compound following it. Since they have performed direct amidation reaction while kept its carboxyl group, the chiral monomer prepared in this work retained the ability to synthetize compounds of different types. For instance, it may react with alcohol or ammonia to perform ester, amide and so on. The further studies on the performances of the synthetic monomers and polymers were not conducted in this work, more research work were still needed to improve especially the application research on effects on organisms and chiral stationary phase.
