The American Environmental Ideological Trend And Environmental Movement In 1960s

The current environmental issue is not only a major world concern but also one of the great challenges facing the world. Along with the rapid development of economy, environmental problems are increasingly serious. When in-depth discussion and research were conducted at the same time, American environmental socialist ideological trend gradually formed in 1960s and vigorously developed. The ideological revolution ultimately led to a magnificent and victorious environmental movement. This is the first large-scale human history of the environmental movement, which had profound influence on the environmental protection movement around the world, but also played a realistic reference for future environmental movement.We did the great specific analysis and in-depth research about the U.S. Environmental socialist ideological trend and American environmental protection movement and its influence in 1960s. This paper first briefly introduces the early environmental awareness and environmental movement. This period is mainly directed against the protection of natural resources and wilderness. Some social elite missed wilderness and recognized the importance of wilderness when wilderness disappeared after the West Movement finished. After that, wrangling of nature protection and resource protection is occurred. Along with worsening of living environment, the environmental thought gradually worsen the focus of environmental protection ideological had been changed from natural resources protection to environmental, and a large-scale environmental protection movement had been occurred in 1960s. We introduce these in the part two of this paper. The striving and contribution of governmental organization and nongovernmental organization in the environmental protection movement also is introduced in this part. Finally, we mainly introduce the effect of large-scale environmental protection movement for the environmental protection enterprise of the whole world.As a typical developed countries, all kinds of environmental issues occurred during its economic development of United States are also appearing in the process of in contemporary China. So we are gradually appeared in in-depth study American environmental socialist ideological trend of the theory of emerged in the meanwhile, drawing on and assimilating the United States environmental protection movement in accumulated valuable experience and profound lessons will appear extremely necessary.
