Rotary kiln is the key equipment in cement industry, the running condition of rotary have a major influence to the cement industry product and the benefits of the cement company. The shell of a rotary kiln is a rotating steel pipe of circular section internally lined with ceramic lining, the hosing is the place for calcined, the kiln shell cylindrical deformation show the work condition of ceramic lining and it have a major influence to the kiln shell life. The kiln shell is supported by tire and roller, when there exist a kiln shell axis distortion, the related tire will have a skew, also there will lead a unequal force in tire which will cause the aggravate wear and tear of the kiln tire surface.the tire is connect with roller,so the roller axis will have a inclination and have the same surface flaw.there exist a robbing in support points when kiln shell axis distortion,the drive amperage abnormal fluctuations and the temperature rise of roller bearing. It is useful for maintenance the kiln shell and monitoring the kiln run condition to measure the kiln shell axis distortion and shell cylindrical deformation, which is significant to prevent those faults caused by kiln shell axis distortion and shell cylindrical deformation.In china there have no a valid method to measure the kiln shell axis distortion and shell cylindrical deformation, while more and more cement industries make senses this measurement. So it is necessary to develop a precise, comfortable and can be widely used equipment to measure the rotary kiln shell axis distortion and shell cylindrical deformation.The caused the kiln shell axis distortion and shell cylindrical deformation has show in this article in detail, we take a method to accurate measure the shell axis distortion and cylindrical deformation, design the data acquisition and data procession system with the use of laser distance sensor, then make sure the value of kiln shell section rotary eccentric and cylindrical deformation of rotary kiln.We show the kiln shell axis distortion and cylindrical deformation mechanical properties in detail, with the help we make certain the measurement method. With the use of laser distance sensor we measure the distant between the reference standard and kiln shell surface, we should definite the deviation in measurement to make sure it is accurate of this method. We design the data acquisition and precession system with the use of Lab VIEW, show the result in graphical, so the kiln user can get the condition of kiln shell axis distortion and cylindrical deformation easily.The equipment designed in this subject is useful, with simple structure, easily used, precise in measurement, it is good for the maintenance of the cement apparatus, so it will have a widely market.
