With large current, low voltage pulsed power, SEAM is a new kind of special processing technology, its processed tools for cathode and the workpiece for anode. In the rough machining and semifinishing scopes of machining hard materials, SEAM has obvious advantages. This technology provides an efficient way for processing the high hardness, high strength and high toughness conductive materials. But on the other hand, due to the investigation of SEAM is not thoroughly, the surface quality of workpiece worked by SEAM is limited, so in finishing areas this technical superiority did not able to develop.Based on the purpose that researching the influencing factors of surface quality of workpiece machining by SEAM, by understanding and mastering the changed rules, we hope to provide some countermeasures for improving the surface quality of workpiece. Therefore, this paper firstly designed the multi-factor orthogonal experiment to hunt for the influencing law of machining factors on the surface roughness, and analyzed further the major influential factors with the single factor experiment; Through calculating and analyzing of stepwise regression, we established mathematical model between influencing factors and surface roughness of workpiece; And studied the changes of the physical and mechanical properties of surface layer material, it is the changes where the fine texture, surface residual stress, microscopic cracks and surface hardness, the causes and influences of changes were analyzed through observing the microstructure diagram of surface materials of workpiece; Finally, the power supply parameters and processing technology factors that influence the surface quality of workpiece were analyzed and summarized combining the specific test, and the interdependent relationship between processing efficiency and surface quality of workpiece were expounded through the theoretical analysis.
