The corn spermoderm is one of the main by-products of corn processing industry. At present, it was used for the feed industry, which caused a serious waste of resources and reduced the added value. The principal constituent of the corn spermoderm is the corn spermoderm dietary fiber which is an excellent raw material of dietary fiber processing. If corn spermoderm wasn't processed, it would be only an ordinary dietary fiber. And it can not be easily absorbed by human body and it had tiny function for human body. While if corn spermoderm was modified, its functional characteristics and utility value would be increased. In recent years, there are many research about corn spermoderm at home and abroad. Most of them studied about soluble corn spermoderm dietary fiber. There was little reporte about production and scientific technological achievements of insoluble corn spermoderm dietary fiber. The corn spermoderm was used as raw material in the study, WI-MCDF, ALI-MCDF, ACI-MCDF, WI-CDF, ALI-CDF and ACI-CDF were extracted. The physical properties and adsorption of glucose, nitrite and cholesterol were determined, which would provide a basis for development of new functional dietary fiber-rich products.The results were showed as follows:(1) The physical properties of expansibility, water-hold capacity, water-combine capacity, oil-hold capacity and cation exchange capability of S-MCDF, I-MCDF, ACI-M CDF and ALI-M CDF were all improved significantly. When S-MCDF and I-MCDF were mixed in different proportions, the physical properties of expansibility, water-hold capacity, water-combine capacity, oil-hold capacity and cation exchange capability changed increased first and then decreased. When the ratio of S-MCDF and I-MCDF was 1:4, the physical properties were best.(2)Under the conditions of simulated gastrointestinal environments (pH=2 and pH=7), the ability of adsorption glucose of WI-MCDF, ACI-MCDF, ALI-MCDF, WI-CDF, ACI-CDF and ALI-CDF increased with time, and WI-MCDF, ACI-MCDF and ALI-MCDF were a litter better than WI-CDF, ACI-CDF and ALI-CDF. At the same time, when pH was 7, the ability of adsorption glucose of them is a litter better than that when the pH was 2.The ability of adsorption glucose remained stable after 150min.(3)The result of adsorption nitrite of modified corn spermoderm insolubility dietary fiber showed that in simulated gastric environment(pH=2), the ability of adsorption nitrite of WI-MCDF, ACI-MCDF, ALI-MCDF, WI-CDF, ACI-CDF and ALI-CDF increased with extension of the time. When they were in simulated intestinal tract environment(pH=7), the ability of adsorption nitrite of WI-MCDF, ACI-MCDF, ALI-MCDF, WI-CDF, ACI-CDF and ALI-CDF would hardly change. Compared with the WI-CDF,ACI-CDF and ALI-CDF, WI-MCDF, the ability of adsorption nitrite of ACI-MCDF and ALI-MCDF is more greater.(4)The result of adsorption cholesterol of modified corn spermoderm insolubility dietary fiber showed that in simulated gastric environment(pH=2), the ability of adsorption cholesterol of WI-MCDF, ACI-MCDF, ALI-MCDF, WI-CDF, ACI-CDF and ALI-CDF would almost no change with extension of the time. But when they were in simulated intestinal tract environment(pH=7), the ability of adsorption cholesterol of WI-MCDF, ACI-MCDF, ALI-MCDF, WI-CDF, ACI-CDF and ALI-CDF was on the rise with extension of the time. And it was far higher than the ability of adsorption cholesterol of pH 2. The ability of adsorption cholesterol remained stable after 150min. Compared with the WI-CDF,ACI-CDF and ALI-CDF, WI-MCDF, the ability of adsorption cholesterol of ACI-MCDF and ALI-MCDF is greater.
