The Research And Application Of Ming-style Seats Symbol

Chinese Ming-style furniture has the unique character in the art performance, even from the modern view of aesthetic image, the art, crafts, design, modeling and various styles they demonstrated, are still so amazing all over the world. As for the current research on the Ming-style seats, many studies have only kicked the tires. For example some people make simple extraction and simplicity in traditional symbols, patterns and components for Ming-style seats, deliberately to imitate the characteristics of the Ming-style seats. Some recent researches also treat the visual symbols of Ming-style furniture as a separate study, from the semiotic angle do some plain and broad exploration, which is merely a blend of theory and theory, having not yet put forward to some practical guidelines on the development of Chinese furniture design.Therefore, after searching a wealth of information and documentation, the subject will make the regarding theory with cognitive semantics and symbols as the research background, do the analytic research on the language symbol system of the Ming-style seats. Make the semantic analysis from the angel of symbol, from the symbolic representation to the symbolic image of the "Jing" and "Qi" "Shen" passing out from the Ming-style seats, and make the understanding of the Ming-style seats closer. Meanwhile from retrospective view of cybernetics pursue the inherent character, spirit and etiquette of the Ming-style seats, in order to have a grasp macro in the process of inheritance and development about the Ming-style seats. Following the two points of analysis, this paper, with the regarding semantic theory of cognitive psychology and symbol knowledge, makes the analysis of the Ming-style seats up to a height of transformation and practice, and forms the design methods of transmission with Ming-style seats symbols in hopes that such research can contribute to the further inheritance and development of traditional Chinese furniture. Carrying forward this spirit of Ming-style furniture and spreading the essence of traditional Chinese culture, at the same time do small attempts in the application of the Ming-style furniture symbol language.The innovation of this paper is not just importing a product semantic theory into the analysis simply, but with the combination of cybernetics and cognitive theory to analyze the causes of the Ming-style seats, as a role of the parties make an understanding of the Ming-style seats semantic composition. Therefore, the final paper will also form the design methods of the referred Ming-style seats heritage, and promote the prosperity of our national arts better.
