Among the Coal Mine Safety Monitoring and Controlling System, sensor counts a great deal for the reliability and sensitivity of the system, and it plays an important role in the system function. In order to guarantee the veracity, the sensor must be verified periodically according to the Coal Mine Safety Regulations. But until now most of our coal mine verifies gas sensors either by manual calibrator or by remote calibrator. Due to the fact that every Coal Mine Safety Monitoring and Controlling System has more than one kind of coal mine gas sensor, the disadvantages of both ways are obvious, higher labor intensity, lower efficiency, lower precision etc. So it is in urgent need of researching and developing an intelligent coal mine gas sensor calibrator.An intelligent coal mine gas sensor calibrator base on DSP (Digital Signal Processor) was proposed in this article with the analysis of its measuring principle and verifying principle. The system is consisted of intelligent Calibrator and upper computer.The development of lower computer (intelligent calibrator) has two aspects: hardware circuit and software programming. Hardware design adopt DSP chip TMS320LF2407A produced by TI company as a core processor to achieve the functions of A/D sampling, data processing, LCD displaying, Keyboards executing, valve controlling etc. The software is programmed by using the integrated developing environment of CCS3.1 (Code Composer Studio). Its modularized software design is easy to debug and upgrade. The constant flow control of standard gas is realized by using Fuzzy RBF-PID controller, and simulated and analyzed under the MATLAB developing environment.Here we use Visual Basic 6.0 to complete the upper computer remote control interface design, and the RS-232 protocol is applied to realize the remote monitoring of the intelligent calibrator. The software interface can display the calibration result and can also store the data for future managing and analyzing.This design of Intelligent Coal Mine Gas Sensor Calibrator has achieved particular function of data acquisition, processing, display, communication and relay actuation control. Its characteristics are as follows:high precision, fast response, fine stability, simple design and easy to use.
