Today, with the rapid development of automotive industry and the more demands for auto, peoples requirements for auto is higher in the auto interior parts. So automotive industry require a higher quality of injection plastic mold, which is the main means of auto inner parts. However, conventional design method of plastic mold is not adapted to the requirement of renewal and higher quality of products.According to the problems needed to solve urgently and technology gap of CAD/CAE between our nation and foreign countries in the region of plastic mold, this article put forward the integrated idea of CAD/CAE and realize the integrated design of automobile plastic box, which is one of typical auto interior parts. This work is finished combined with practical design examples of injection mold.This article focus on CAE analysis and complete design of injection mold in the upper and downer of the automobile plastic box. Firstly, 3D solid modeling of injection product should be completed by the Pro/E software. The forming condition such as the material type, the mold material type, the mold temperature, the melt temperature, the packing pressure, the packing time is set by construction and application of the upper and downer parts.Secondly, the numerical simulation of filling, flow, air traps, weld lines and warp was respectively performed for the upper and downer parts with Moldflow simulation software. The filling process and flow transformation of liquid plastic were shown obviously by numerical simulation of filling, through which we could optimize the injection system combined with comparing the analysis of filling, air traps, weld lines and warp. Finally, the complete injection molds of upper and downer of the automobile plastic box were designed, created, loaded or assembled by the Mold Design module, EMX module and Assemble module of Pro/E software.The CAD/CAE optimization technology of injection mold changes the traditional mold proving mold repairing. The optimization project could be obtained by inputting different injection parameters, obtaining different injection result. Which not only could higher the productivity but also lower production cost.
