Fatty acid ester of sodium isethionate was an anionic surfactant, although it had been studied for a hundred years, with the development of chemical industry, the synthesis of fatty acid ester of sodium isethionate needed to be improved. In this paper, the fatty acid ester of sodium isethionate was synthesized by esterification using the fatty acid and sodium isethionate as raw materials for the purpose of reducing environmental pollution. And the corresponding synthesis technology was optimized. Due to the synthesis temperature was 220℃~250℃, the raw material fatty acid and product could be oxidized easily, which had a detrimental effect on the quality of product. So this paper studied several antioxidant methods of synthesis of fatty acid ester of sodium isethionate. A new antioxidant KY-1330 was choiced and added to the raw material and the peroxide value of product was detected. The results indicated that the oxidation degree of fatty acid ester of sodium isethionate decreased, and the quality of product was improved effectively.The optimal conditions for the synthesis of fatty acid ester of sodium isethionate using the single factor experiment were:2:1 of the ratio of fatty acid to sodium isethionate, 55% of sodium isethionate concentration, 1% of KOH, 237℃of esterification temperature and reacting for 90 minutes. Under the optimum conditions, the content of active substance was 65%~70%, which was detected by the mixed indicator two phases titration method. The comparative research of iodometric titration and iodine colormetric estimation was studied. The experiment operation of iodometric titration was simpler and its experiment result was more stable, respectively. Herein, this method was used to determine the peroxide value of the sample,and the results found complex of KY-1330 and TBHQ showed the best effect of oxidation inhibitor.Due to the short of the industrialization of new type hindered phenolic antioxidants KY-1330 and the dependency of import,the synthesis and application of the new type oxidation inhibitor was studied,using 2,6-di-tert-butyl phenol,paraformaldehyde and mesitylene as the main materials. The synthesis technics were optimized to increase the yield and quality of KY-1330 by orthogonal experiments, respectively. The oxidation degree of KY-1330 declined evidently during the synthesis process of fatty acid ester of sodium isethionate.The results of the orthogonal experiment of KY-1330 showed that the reaction conditions were as follows. The first step: catalyst dimethylamine of 1.5mL, reaction temperature of 100℃, reaction time of 190 min, stirring speed of 100 r/m, yield of 87.2%; The second step: material ratio of 4:1,reaction temperature of 5℃, reaction time of 120min, mass fraction of sulfuric acid of 80%, yield of 81.5%. The synthesis route used in this paper was suitable for industrial production in China, the optimimal conditions for experiment will provide theory instruction for industrial production of KY-1330.
