Combination Machine Tools is a kind of automatic or semi-automatic special machine with a few special parts based on general parts. It is widely used in mass production for both the advantages of low cost and high efficiency, and can be used to form an automatic production line. Combination Machine Tools mostly belongs to the special machine tool, it's components and parts generally have features as serialization, standardization and universal. But sometimes often fall down some phenomenon like multi-axis, multi-row time, multi-parameter and multi-program for flexible characteristics of transmission scheme. Currently, all the design process of the Combination Machine Tools depends on the designer's experience, programs designed by different designers are very different. With the development of society, increasing mobility of the designer whose age tends to younger, issues has been revealed that designers lack of experience and expertise. It's the urgent need for enterprises that inherit and stylized experience of experts in this field. Therefore, it is imperative to develop an Intelligent Design Platform of Combination Machine Tools, the study of the subject has great theoretical and practical value.Paper built the basic framework of the Intelligent Design Platform of Combination Machine Tools. The platform is comprised with Intelligent Design System for Transmission Scheme and Intelligent CAD System. The basic idea is to combine expert system and CAD modeling technology into an organic unity, create an Intelligent Design System of Combination Machine Tools by the secondary development on the basis of the mature CAD/CAM software. When determine transmission scheme, the transmission scheme Intelligent Design System completes the program selection and optimization, parameter identification and validation and other links according to expert experience, and then pass the final decision-making results to Intelligent CAD Systems. Intelligent CAD Systems completes works as creating model of the necessary standard parts and common parts, virtual assembly, generating engineering drawings and data feedback, etc.Intelligent CAD Systems is an important part of"The Intelligent Design Platform of Combination Machine Tools". This paper took Drilling Combination Tools Spindles Box for class study, built Drilling Combination Machine Tools Spindle Box CAD System and implement the Intelligent Design of drilling combination machine tools spindles Box by utilizing a visual integrated development environment for Visual C++ based on the Windows operating system and Pro/Toolkit, the secondary development tool of Pro/E. According to the parameters that determined by transmission scheme design system, paper create modeling respectively for parts and components have different characteristics, accomplish the virtual assembly of the combination tools spindles Box and produce Parts'2D drawings. Assembly is automatically saved the result to the database and graphics library, take it as a case to the case library, at the same time fed the result back to transmission scheme design system.Showed by example test, implementation of the system made programs designed more reasonable, and reduced design difficulties of parts and components of the Drilling Combination Machine Tools Spindles Box greatly, and the workload of the designer. Improved design efficiency and quality, shortened the design cycle. The implementation of this system lay the foundation for CAE and CAM of Combination Machine Tools Spindles Box designing, and also has a guide and reference for overall design of the combination machine tools.
