| With the social development, human society has stepped into ecological civilization from industrial one, and environmental consciousness and behavior level has become the most important symbol of measuring the degree of social progress and civilization. This paper focuses on the developing of college students'environmental consciousness and behavior in the agricultural universities. College students in the agricultural universities as one of the main forces in the future social development, the level of their environmental consciousness and behavior will affect the implementation of environmental protection and sustainable development strategy, and it also influences the degree of social civilization.This paper is divided into 5 parts to explore the developing of college students' environmental consciousness and behavior in the agricultural universities. The first part states the details of the paper's background, purpose, significance, research clues and methods. It also systematically states headway in researching predecessors' documents and overseas ecological and environmental education, which is the available foundation of further research.The second part explores the connotation of environmental consciousness and behavior and it points out that environmental consciousness is one kind of recognition, experience and behavior tendency by mastering environmental knowledge and internalizing their psychological activities. Environmental behavior is one kind of active actions good to environmental protection and improvement. The action is taken by active agents to achieve some goal or accomplish some task under the circumstances of having active environmental consciousness and no environmental intention. This behavior shows active agents'respect for nature, which is an active behavior close to society and beneficial to human life and social development. This part also introduces the process of shaping environmental consciousness and behavior. It also analyzes the facts influencing environmental consciousness and behavior. It believes that the shape of environmental consciousness is a changing process from weak to strong, and that individual environmental consciousness, social environmental education and external environmental warning influence environmental behavior. The third part is to take Hunan agricultural University as an example. We got the current situation and college students'ecological and environmental protection consciousness by investigating the college students in Hunan Agricultural University in the form of questionnaire. The findings show that the college students' environmental recognition level is low, limited and unbalanced, that their environmental recognition is easily influenced by other factors and that in comparison to environmental recognition, their environmental behavior is relatively backward, and their consciousness is inconsistent with their behavior.The fourth part analyzes the reasons from the angle of universities, families, society and students themselves. It believes that society, history, government and economy are the root of the current situation, but ecology education, family education and students themselves in the agricultural universities also influence their consciousness and behavior.The fifth part explores how to develop and strengthen agricultural university students'environmental consciousness and behavior from the perspective of university ecology education. This paper assumes that the following measures are beneficial to improve the level of environmental consciousness and behavior: exerting a subconscious influence on students by creating ecological culture phenomenon and exerting agricultural universities'advantages and features; popularizing ecology education to improve the ecology education level; strengthening the educational function of ecological and environmental protection associate; promoting environmental protection activities to be developed. These measures can not only help students in the agricultural universities establish the strong sense of ecological and environmental protection but also help agricultural universities train ecology talents for our society. |
