CAPP / MIS integration technology, as an information technology used in production preparation and management for manufacturing, has been playing an important role in the CAD/CAPP/CAM/MIS technology, which can meet the needs of the printing machinery industry, such as improving product development capabilities, shortening the product development and production cycle, enhancing the adaptability to the marke; information integration between MIS and CAPP systems is not only the basis for CIMS system but also the requirements of concurrent engineering thinking.The intelligent CAPP theory and integrated technology based on MIS have been studied in a systematic way in this paper. It combined with advanced research project of Beijing Municipal Education Commission-funded, which is the study of MIS-based intelligent decision system for press manufacturing process. For the revolving parts, lots of research on current software and enterprise applications of CAPP has been done. The CAPP system , which is on the construction of process decision-making model based on features with Visual C++ programming tools and SQL Server database technology, can achieve the integrated information modeling and data sharing and implement dynamic decision-making of process route. The main contents and results are as follows:1 The conceptual model and system structure based on MIS are proposed. The integrated structure, functional model, work flow, enterprise Information Management upstream service for manufacturing process planning and production downstream are illustrated in the environment of integrated manufacturing of CAPP system.2 An unified model of digital information products is proposed according to the characteristics of the machining process and process generation of parts. Treating parts as the combination of main features and aided features, designing the parts feature information input method, using the object-oriented technology, with those steps, the interactive input and inquiries can be realized. At the same time, by building a process feature information-mapping model, the geometry features of which can be translated to process features. Process information can be required in an interactive way from the system. Thus the integration and share of CAD/CAPP system can be realized.3 The case-and-knowledge-based hybrid method of process planning is brought forward. The representation module of case,the similarity case retrieval,the case adoption , the case modifying and case memory modul are built to describe fuzzy feature information, then the most similar case can be retrieved from the case library and the new part process be created.4 The theory of process automatic creating is introduced based on orientation hierarchical planning and process mapping module. Part features, which is identified by feature orientation, are sequencing by the operation order, then geometric feature sequence are mapping into the process feature sequence. With the fuzzy hybrid decision module and decision tree, the dynamic decision-making of feature-based process routing and automatic calculation of process parameters are realized.
