Poly(methyl methacrylate /butyl acrylate)[P(MMA/BA)], Poly(methyl methacrylate /lauryl methacrylate) [P(MMA/LMA)] and Poly(methyl methacrylate /lauryl methacrylate&β-hydroxy propyl methacrylate)[P(MMA/ LMA&β-HPMA)] with hard Core-soft Shell structure were synthesized by semi-continuous seeded emulsion polymerization.The main contents are summarized as follows:1. The emulsion of P(MMA/BA) (solid content≥50%) were synthesized. The influence of emulsifier (SDS/OP-10), initiator (KPS), cross-linking agent (EGDMA), reaction temperature and other factors on the stability, conversion rate and other properties of the emulsion of P(MMA/BA) were studied.The chemical structures of polymer were researched by FT-IR. The morphogy of polymer were observed by TEM. DSC showed that the polymer had two glass transition temperatures (Tg). The size distribution of the emulsion particles of P(MMA/BA) were researched by LPA and the result showed that the size distribution were narrowed first and then gradually widen with the amount of emulsifier increasing.2. The emulsion of P(MMA/LMA) were synthesized .The influence of the emulsifiers(OP-10/SDS), cross-linking agent(EGDMA), the mass ratio of core-shell monomers, solid content, reaction time and other factors on the stability ,conversion rate and other properties of the emulsion of P(MMA/LMA) were studied. The chemical structures of polymer were researched by FT-IR. The morphogy of polymer were observed by TEM. DSC showed that the polymer had two glass transition temperatures (Tg). The particles of P(MMA/LMA) emulsion were researched by LPA and the result showed that the particle size were gradually smaller and the size distribution were narrowed with the amount of emulsifier increasing.3. The emulsion of P(MMA/LMA&β-HPMA) were synthesized The influence of the composition of shell monomer on the stability of the emulsion of P(MMA/LMA&β-HPMA) and the hardness of the latex film were studied. The chemical structures of polymer were researched by FT-IR. The morphogy of polymer were observed by TEM. DSC showed that the polymer had two glass transition temperatures (Tg). Compared to P(MMA/LMA) system, The emulsion of P(MMA/ LMA&β-HPMA) was more stability while the hardness of the latex film was increased.
