| The basic flotation behavior of calamine, effect and mechanism of collector, mineral dissolution, metal ion and pH adjustor on flotation of calamine were investigated by tests of single mineral and actual ore, measurements of zeta potential, FTIR and granularity, as well as calculations of solution chemistry and thermodynamics. Relationships among adsorption of complex species, solution interface action, surface property transform of calamine and flotation. The main conclusions of the thesis are indicated as follows. Results of single mineral tests indicate that, dosage of collector and pH of pulp has a distinct effect on flotation of calamine. Using OL-4 as collector, flotation pH with high recoveries ranges from 7 to 9. Dissolution has a bad effect on flotation of calamine and it is benefit for flotation to remove the dissolution species from pulp. Using sodium carbonate as pH regulator can reduce the bad effect of dissolution on flotation of calamine. Zn(â…¡), Ca(â…¡), Mg(â…¡) and Pb(â…¡) can activate flotation of calamine whereas ferric ion can depress flotation of calamine. Results of zeta potential and FTIR measurements show that OL-4 is adsorbed on the surface of calamine principally by chemical reaction. Results of granularity measurements show that OL-4 adsorbed on the surface of calamine by chemical reaction, can lead to the formation of hydrophobic gather of ultrafine particles.Whether in the system of sodium hydroxide and metal ions or in the system of sodium carbonate metal ions, avtivation or depression of metal ions on flotation of calamine is relevant to predominant species of metal ions in the balance system. Results of actual ore tests show that, for the oxidized lead-zinc ore that is difficult to process in Xin Jiang with a Zn grade of 6.91%, oxidized concentrate with Zn grade of 20.53% can be obtained without desliming and the Zn recovery of 73.20% can be obtained. |
