Research On Safety Pedagogy And Its Methodology

From the view of discipline and methodology, the origins of safety education and its present situation is analyzed on the basis of historical documents, it is pointed out that there exit three key problems in safety education, which are undeveloped basic theory, unestablished discipline system and absent research method. For ensuring the safety of society and production and advancing the level of safety education, the relating discipline theory, discipline system and research method are considered comprehensively, the safety pedagogy and its methodology are studied systematically with the integrated application of comparison method, regulation method, abstract method, analysis and synthesis method from the angle of practicality, humanistic nature of safety education:(1) By the historical investigation of educational activities and human safety education and training activities, it is obtained that safety education together with other education activites originates in the learning and transfering process of self-protection capability against hazards in ancient times.(2) The development of safety education and training activities is elaborated systematically from following aspects:legislation, occupational safety education for corporation, safety professional education, safety educaion technology and safety education and training of the United States, Japan and the UK. It is pointed out that there exit three key problems in safety education, which are undeveloped basic theory, unestablished discipline system and absent research method.(3) The definitions of safety educaion is delimited from the view of discipline based on the comparative study of pedagogy and safety education and the summarize of the exsited relating study of safety pedagogy, it is pointed out that its nature is human-centered and its root is safety eucation and training practice.(4) Safety pedagogy is defined from the view of discipline based the synthetical analysis of its existed definition, then its connotation and extension is elaborated from nature, characteristics, research areas, functions and geographical study.(5) The basic theoretical system of safety pedagogy is constructed from above anaysis, meanwhile its discipline system is bulit horizontally and vertically for the first time.(6) Through the philosophical thinking of safety education activities, Marxist philosophy is chosen as its guiding theory, the relationship of Marxist Philosophy and safety pedagogy is discussed, and then the methodology system of safety pedagogy is constructed.(7)Through above philosophical thinking of safety pedagogy and the refering of related theory of scientific methodology and education methodology, the definition of methodology of safety pedagogy is put forward for the first time, meanwhile its connotation, extension and research paradigm is elobrated and its theoretical basis is established from the discuss of the object of study, contents, characteristics and geographical study.(8) The methodology system of safety pedagogy which breaks its method bottleneck of research and application is established from the reference of group standard of scientific methodology system and the combination of the characteristic of safety pedagogy.(9) At last, based on above researches, comprehensive research process and pattern of safety education which provides standardized thoughts for safety education is constructed creatively with analogism, baconian method and system method referring to research process and pattern of educational science.
