With the continuous development of coal industry, the safety of coal mine production is gaining increasing attention from people in all walks of life. Monitoring equipment has made noticeable progress, especially the underground personnel positioning system. This underground personnel positioning system can locate accurately those personnel working underground, that not only can give convenience for managing people who work underground coal, but also can supply technology help for rescuing people who were trapped underground.Firstly, this paper introduces the structure and working theory of the underground personnel positioning system, followed by the main technology used in the system in China. Secondly, it analyses the deficiencies existing in the current positioning systems and proposes a design project of the rescuer to make up the deficiency. It also describes the working theory and design method of the rescuer, and designs the hardware circuit and software of the rescuer.As for hardware design,this paper designs main controller board, OLED display board and touch sense key controller board of the rescuer. The design of the main control board mostly included the circuit of system power, the minimum system circuit of main controller, the circuit of 2.4GHz wireless communication, the circuit of IrDA communication and FLASH memory. The design of OLED display board is mainly on the circuit of the OLED power supply and bus interface of display driver. The design of touch sense key board consists of the design of nine touching keys and the hardware circuit of battery voltage monitoring.As for software design, this paper designs the program of main controller and that of touch sense key controller from the perspective of modular design. The program of main controller is composed of the initialization of main controller, 2.4GHz wireless communication module procedure, IrDA communication module program, FLASH memory reading and writing program, OLED display module and interface program with touching key controller. The software design of touching key controller is composed of detecting program of touch sense key, key code transmitting program and monitoring program of battery voltage.Finally, this paper gives the debug process of the rescuer hardware circuit and its installing process, with its focus on debug methods of touching key and battery voltage. The rationality of its software and hardware design is proved by experiment. This rescuer performs well in personnel locating and searching under the coal mine, thus has reached the expected target. At last, this paper also points out the shortage of the rescuer and its room for improvement.
