Phenolic wastewater is one of the representative wastewater, which is difficult to treat in industry. This dissertation reviews the methods of phenolic wastewater treatment, the phenolic wastewater detection and present problems in detail, and then propose the topics of this dissertation. The following major innovation works were carried out based on the previous literatures:1) Magnetic microcapsules containing tributyl phosphate (TBP) have been prepared successfully with a phase inversion method, and the adsorption of phenols from aqueous solution using TBP/Fe3O4@PSF (polysulfone) microcapsules has been studied. The results showed that it took about 30 min to reach extraction equilibrium with most of phenols being adsorbed within the first five minutes. The investigation of potential industrial application provided encouraging results for the application of these magnetic microcapsules to the adsorption of phenols from aqueous solutions in large-scale operations.2) Magnetic organic modified montmorillonite (OMMT)/Fe3O4@PSF microcapsules and C18/Fe3O4@PSF microcapsules were synthesized, the materials were applied for cleanup and enrichment of 4-CP and 2-CP. Comparative studies were carried out between OMMT/Fe3O4@PSF microcapsules and C18/Fe3O4@PSF microcapsules. Either adsorption or absorption rate, OMMT/Fe3O4@PSF microcapsules are superior to C18/Fe3O4@PSF microcapsules. So, we chose OMMT/Fe3O4@PSF microcapsules as magnetic solid phase extraction, established the measure method of 4-CP and 2-CP enrichment by magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) from water followed by HPLC determination. The experimental results showed that the established methods met the requirements of water quality analysis.Three parts are included in the dissertationChapter I:Review of the phenolic compounds in water pollution, and the commonly used phenolic wastewater treatment and detection, and then proposed topics of this dissertation.Chapter II:Magnetic microcapsules containing TBP have been prepared successfully with a phase inversion method, and the removal of phenols from aqueous solution using TBP/Fe3O4@PSF microcapsules has been studied here.Chapter III:Magnetic OMMT/Fe3O4@PSF microcapsules and C18/Fe3O4@PSF microcapsules were synthesized with a phase inversion method too, we chose OMMT/Fe3O4@PSF microcapsules as magnetic solid phase extraction, established the measure method of 4-CP and 2-CP enrichment by MSPE from water followed by HPLC determination.
