In this paper, the adsorption behavior of organic matter from phosphate rock flotation wastewater is studied by modified montmorillonite. The raw material Ca-montmorillonite which producing area is Nei Monggol Chifeng is purified to Na-modification.The Na-modification is used as matrix of clay materials to prepared Zr-pillared montmorillonite by dilute solution method. The X Ray Diffraction,Infrared Spectrum,Thermogravimetric differential thermal,Specific Surface area Pore size and Scanning electron microscopy analysis are used to characterize the Zr-pillared montmorillonite. The adsorption characteristics of two kinds of common organic compounds?sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate and sodium oleate?in phosphate rock flotation wastewater are studied by Zr pillared montmorillonite.Based on the above research, the following conclusions can be drawn.?1?The layer spacing d?001?value could be the standard to measure the pillared effect. The best preparation fators of Zr pillared montmorillonite could get as follow:Zr/mt ratio of7.5mmol/L,montmorillonite mass concentration is 3.6%,the pillared reaction time is 6h and aging time of the pillaring agent for 1.5h.The results showed that the d?001?value is increased from 1.24 nm to 1.995 nm which proved to be good performance adsorption material.?2?The results of characterization analysis showed that zirconium polymerization hydroxyl cationic entered into the interlayer of montmorillonite resulted in a higher weight loss rate of montmorillonite and the bond reaction between[Si4O10]n and Zr4+.The pillared montmorillonite have the features of micropores and flaky particles or narrow pores. The number of large pores are reduced while the micropores increased. Its specific surface area is significantly increased, the pore size distribution is more uniform than before.?3?The adsorption behavior of sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate in two kinds of montmorillonite are studied, and the various factors on the adsorption effect is discussed. The removal rate is99.039%when the corresponding adsorption capacity is 19.893mg/g under the conditions that pH=3,the initial concentration of sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate is 80 mg/L,the mass of zirconium pillared montmorillonite is 0.2 g,the adsorption temperature is 20?,the adsorption time is 30 min.The adsorption isotherm of zirconium pillared montmorillonite and sodium montmorillonite to SDBS is very high with Freundlich isotherm. The adsorption kinetics are in accordance with the pseudo-second-order kinetics model.?4?The adsorption behavior of sodium oleate in Zr-pillared montmorillonite is studied, and the effect of various factors on the adsorption effect is discussed. The removal rate is 96.89%,the corresponding adsorption capacity is 21.53 mg/g under the conditions that pH=3,the initial concentration of sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate is 100 mg/L,the amount of zirconium pillared montmorillonite is 0.45 g,the adsorption temperature is 20?,the adsorption time is 60 min.The adsorption isotherm of zirconium pillared montmorillonite to sodium oleate is very good with Freundlich,Langmuir and Redlich-Peterson,respectively.In the low concentration region, the Freundlich isotherm fitting deviation is large, and the Langmuir isotherm fitting error is high in the high concentration region. The adsorption kinetics is in better accordance with the pseudo-second-order kinetics. The modified montmorillonite with excellent adsorption properties on organic matter from this research, which provides theoretical basis and technical support for the efficient and economical treatment of organic matter in refractory phosphate rock flotation wastewater.
