TiO2 degrade VOCS of the air into H2O and CO2 with UV illumination. Due to the degrading product will not destroy environment in the second time, people pay more attention to TiO2 as an environment kinded photocatalyst. Based on TiO2 application in gas phase photocatalysis, aiming at formaldehyde of the air, a series of correlative experiments were carried on in this study including preparation of TiO2 photocatalyst, preparation of TiO2 dispersoid, preparation of TiO2/cotton fabric that use cotton fabric as carrier and photocatalytic degradation of formaldehyde.Titanium dioxide powders and iron-doped titanium dioxide were prepared by sol-gel method and the best preparation conditions was developed through the degeneration certain density methyl orange experiment. The influences of reagent dosage and pH value on the photocatalytic activities of the Titanium dioxide powders were also investigated.Aqueous dispersion of titanium dioxide was prepared with the combining action of dispersant, magnetic stirring apparatus and ultrasonic cleaner. The influences of different dispersant, dispersant dosage and pH value on the aqueous dispersion behavior of titanium dioxide with the absorption spectrophotometer were investigated. The best preparation conditions aqueous dispersion of titanium dioxide was developed. The experiment indicated that aqueous dispersion of titanium dioxide became steady-going sol with the condition of 10 of pH value and one percent of twelve alkyl benzene sulphurache natrium.Cotton fabric loading titanium dioxide was prepared by soaking and tolling cotton fabric in aqueous dispersion of titanium dioxide and the best preparation conditions was developed through the degeneration certain density methyl orange experiment. The influences of cementing agent dosage and coating layer on the photocatalytic activities of the cotton fabric loading titanium dioxide were also investigated. The experiment indicated that photocatalytic activities is best with the condition that cementing agent: dispersant: titanium dioxide powders: aqueous dispersive mediums=2:1:10:100, coating layer is 3. The photocatalytic degradation behavior of prepared cotton fabric loading titanium dioxide by degenerating gaseous formaldehyde was studied. The experiment indicated that photocatalytic activities is best one gaseous formaldehyde initial concentration is 93.88μg/L.
