| Cooling system design is one of the most significant parts in the structural design of injection mould. It affects both the production efficiency and quality directly. The reasonable cooling system can obtain uniform temperature distribution, avoid the warp and distortion of the products and improve the productivity. The traditional method of cooling system design can not meet the needs of the high quality of the products as well as the modern injection mould. Based on the full analysis of the design process, content and characters of injection mould cooling system, applied both knowledge engineering and simplifying method of plastic part model, combined the feature identifying, CBR and RBR reasoning techniques. And studied the technology of intelligent design of cooling system. The intelligent-design-module is built on UG platform.Above all, in order to infer the reasonable design from the geometry feature of the part, a simplifying method is mentioned which considers the main features and ignores the other assistant ones. The simplifying rules based on both the knowledge and experiences are established,and can simplify the CAD model automatically. According to the simplified model, the cooling system is designed intelligently. Meanwhile, with deep analysis of the modeling feature of software UG and by the use of cross-section-contour modeling method, the features of plastic parts are identified which is important for the extraction of complex features and rules establishment of features identification. Then, based on the simplified model and other information, the inferring mechanism combined CBR and PBR is used to make the intelligent design of the cooling system. The knowledge and case repository are built. To the detail design of the cooling system, the isolated knowledge module is built with object-oriented approach. According to the form of cooling system structure, the geometric parameters and the amount of cooling medium are calculated and checked. With the calculation results, the structural parameters of cooling system are driven to get the intelligent designFinally, take rectangular shell plastic part for example, the basic processes and method of cooling system design is carried out. The results show that the design is reasonable and practicable. |
