Studies On The Rheological Property Of Live Crude Oil

Transportation of crude oil by piping line is widely used in oil field gathering system, which can enhance the crude oil's transportation efficiency and reduce the crude oil's transport cost, but as to the crude oil transported at low freezing point and high viscosity, which need heating system, it can also raise the transport cost and waste the energy resources. In order to enhance the crude oil's transport efficiency and reduce the crude oil's transport cost, the crude oil transported at normal temperature as an important power saving technology is used in oil/gas field development. It will be an effective method when the crude oil is dissolved with natural gas and some light components, then the freezing point and viscosity will be declined. Some fundamental research is done to rheological property of the live crude oil in the laboratory preparation and sampling on well site.Firstly we set up the live crude oil's lab preparation and physical property measurement system, and also verified the dependability of the system. By the system we can obtain the ideal live crude oil, and provide the fundamental crude oil sample for rheological property research. In order to provide the fundamental data for rheological property analysis, we measured the solubility of nature gas in the SN6251 and MB9103 oils, also measured and calculated the live crude oil's volume ratio and densityStudied on the rheological property of SN6251 and MB9103 live crude oils by the TA-AR G2 high pressure rheometer in lab preparation, it was shown that the anomalistic points and viscosity of live crude oils were both decreased; the solubility and viscosity break rate were both increased with pressure rise. We can also obtain the same conclusion with the Haake-RV20 high pressure rheometer by studing the rheological property of these two live crude oils sampling on the field. Therefore, the rheological property can be improved obviously by the dissolved nature gas.It also made a comparison of the rheological property of live crude oil between the lab preparation and sampling on the field, and made some suggestions on the laboratory experiment.
