How to improve the interface compatibility of plant's fiber and plastic composite materials is the key point and hot spot of the research of wood/plastic composite materials now. This paper was focused on the two aspects, one is reducing the fiber material's polarity, the other is enhancing the thermoplastic's polarity. The method of straw powder's treatment were acetylation and endo-cellulase processing, the method of polyethylene powder's treatment was low temperature plasma processing. The materials which have been treated were tested in according with the method of scanning electron microscope, attenuated total reflection infrared spectra, contact angle and electron spin resonance spectroscopy. Analyzing the effects of modification from the aspect of sole raw material. Finally, the test specimen will be produced according to the proportion of 40% straw powder and 60% polyethylene plastic powder by using the injection molding equipment. Test specimen were tested in accordance with the method of scanning electron microscope, dynamic thermal mechanical properties, tensile strength and impact strength. Analyzing the effects of modification from the aspect of composite material.The test results shows that the quantity of free-radial which on the surface of straw powder reduced after the treatment of acetylation and endo-cellulase processing. The dynamic thermal mechanical properties and mechanical properties of composite material enhanced; and there are new free-radial which had been grafted on the surface of polyethylene powder after low temperature plasma processing. The dynamic thermal mechanical properties and tensile strength of composite material enhanced, however, impact strength reduced. The test result indicates that the three methods of treatment which have been selected were achieved the desired objective, improved the composite of straw powder and the polyethylene, produced stronger interfacial bonding. |
