The technology of turn-milling is a advanced manufacturing technology in the machining field in nowadays, it is to makes use of synthesis of movement which is composed by the milling tool rotation and workpiece rotation to achieve the workpiece cutting,it is mainly applicable to efficiently rough machining and precision machining of the large-scale revolution workpiece and various workpieces with weak rigidity.Research of turn-milling dynamics is an important component of turn-milling basic theory research.In turn-milling machining process,vibration of milling tool and workpiece have a great impact on shape accuracy,location accuracyandsurface roughness of the workpiece and so on,so research of turn-milling vibration is absolutely necessary.The dynamic characteristics of axial turn-milling typical workpieces which include the slender rod,the thin-walled revolution workpiece and the shaped connection workpiece were analysed in this paper. According to the dynamics theory of elastomer, dynamic models of axial turn-milling machining the slender rod with weak rigidity and the thin-walled revolution workpiece were established,resonant frequency and response of forced vibration were calculated by theoretical approach in machining process, they were studied for dynamics by finite-element method,the finite-element analysis and theoretical calculation results were compared.In axial turn-milling of large rigidity shaped connection workpiece,differential equations of machining vibration was established,both model in which the dynamic characteristic of tool was considered and model in which the dynamic characteristics of tool and workpiece were considered of regeneration chatter were established.Time-domain simulation was carried by Matlab/simulink,two simulation results were compared.Regeneration chatter influenced by cutting deepth and milling rotation was studied.Through studying axail turn-milling machining of the slender rod with weak rigidity and the thin-walled revolution workpiece,theoretical calculation models of resonant frequency and response of forced vibration were acquired,and the validity of formula was proved.Simulation studies of regeneration chatter in axial turn-milling machining shaped connection workpiece proved that dynamic characteristic of workpiece remarkably influenced regeneration chatter and was an indispensable part in simulation model of regeneration chatter of axail turn-milling.With the increasing of milling rotation and the amplitude reducing, with the increasing of the cutting depth and the amplitude increasing.
