Methanol and ethanol are clean fuels. They are cheaper than diesel and can be fully burnt, so they are suitable to partially substitute diesel. However, because of the intense polarity from methanol and ethanol and the non-polarity from diesel, only a little methanol or ethanol can be blended with diesel. Meanwhile, high-purified methanol or ethanol is used in common mixed fuel containing alcohol and diesel, which will surely increase the outlay of the fuel blends.In this paper, on the purpose of preparing a kind of emulsified diesel which was of well economic benefit and can keep stable for a long time, we firstly blended 0# diesel with industrial methanol and industrial ethanol respectively with the help of dissolvent. Varying the proportion of methanol or ethanol in"diesel-alcohol"system and temperature respectively, we prepared the three-constituent emulsified diesel which included diesel, industrial alcohol and dissolvent and the four-constituent emulsified diesel which included diesel, industrial alcohol, fatty acid methyl ester and medium-carbon ether. Secondly, we respectively investigated the emulsification technology of three representative emulsified diesels, whose physicochemical properties, such as heat value, viscosity and distillation range, were also researched. The main conclusions are as followed:1. In the three-constituent emulsified diesel, the maximum mass percent of industrial methanol and industrial ethanol was respectively 17.8% and 17.4%. And accordingly the dissolvent added was alcohol B and ketone A. The dissolvent used in the emulsified diesel which was of the lowest outlay was ether A.2. In the four-constituent emulsified diesel, the addition of fatty acid methyl ester made the proportion of diesel in emulsified diesel greatly diminished, on condition that the physicochemical properties of the emulsified diesel was close to those of 0# diesel. One of the two kinds of fatty acid methyl ester which was used in the experiment was prepared from waste frying oil, and the other one was provided by enterprise. On condition that the proportion of industrial alcohol and temperature are both at the same level, the soluble capacity of medium-carbon ether was better in emulsified diesel which contained the former fatty acid methyl ester, whose outlay was comparatively lower. The maximum mass percent of industrial methanol and industrial ethanol was respectively 9.8% and 10.6%.3. In the three representative emulsified diesels, 3# emulsified diesel was most tolerant to water. The value of C/H, the content of nitrogen and sulfur, flash point and cetane number of the three representative emulsified diesels were all lower than those of 0# diesel. The low heat value and density of them were close to those of 0#diesel. On condition that stirring time was 1 minute and stirring rate was 800r/min, the viscosity of the three representative emulsified diesels was close to that of 0# diesel. The distillation temperature of low-boiling fractions in the emulsified diesels mentioned above was lower than that in 0#diesel.
