Open architecture numerical control system(Open CNC)is a trend of the numerical control technology. High-speed and precision controller is playing a more and more important role in high-end CNC systems. At present, Digital Signal Processor (DSP)-based motion controller has become the main trend of motion controller. They can easily be plugged-in PC to combine their motion control abilities with the information processing capabilities of PC, which have the advantages of powerful information processing capability, strong motion control ability and good openness. After an intensive study of motion control technology, a motion controll board based on DSP and CPLD with USB2.0 interface is designed in this thesis.The controller applies TMS320F2812 which is a powerful 32-bit fixed point DSP chip as its control core to complete the motion control system. The hardware of the motion controller is designed and the control algorithms are discussed, including the clock circuit, power circuit, CPLD circuit, USB circuit, D/A converter circuits and difference circuit. For the control algorithm, the key technologies such as the position control, speed control and the interpolation algorithm is expounded. An digital incremental interpolation algorithm - time-sharing interpolation method is the focus of research. Through the improvement of this algorithm, the precision of the controller is improved.On base of the hardware circuits and the control algorithms, the software of the DSP controll board is completed. The software includes the main program and various subprogrames of interrupt.
