Water-based varnish has advantages of no-toxicity,no-contamination,lower cost,convenient transportation and steady quality of production,and has become the study emphasis in the field of varnish oil for paper at present.It has been the new type of glazing material for printing,and is becoming the development direction.Based on the research status of styrene-butyl acrylic co-polymer emulsion and water-based varnish,according to molecule design principle and by optimizing polymerization process and adjusting the formulas of components,it is manufactured as water-based varnish which is friendly to the environment.By the measurements such as TEM,DSC,FT-IR and so on,some influencing factors such as the type and proportion of monomers,emulsifier,initiator,buffer solution, functional monomers,reaction time and polymerization prosess such as stirring velocity,polymerization methods are analyzed and discussed.In this work,by lots of experiments,the styrene-butyl acrylic copolymer emulsion with core-shell structure and excellent peformance was prepared by pre-emulsifing method and semi-continuous seeded emulsion polymerization.
