Today we still don't know the exact mechanism of SBR process and which model is mostly match to SBR. SBR process parameters are very complicated and inaccurate currently. Computer-Aimed Design and reactor simulation become popular around the world, while we China just start a little step on ASM study.Here we study on conventional activated sludge models, analyze the relationship between the organic/volume loading and influent/effluent water quality, collect and use fitting method to analyze the experimental and practical data of SBR in China, and we get a conclusion that the modified MONOD equation (v', v'maxmeans reduction rate and max-reduction rate of stroma. The equation neglects the influence of activated sludge.) is more suitable to our domestic wastewater within low-mid concentration treated by SBR. With this kinetic model, we simulate a kinetic equation UV= 0.50164*( S*-24.10918) which is used to describe SBR reaction and build a new design method. Now we can accurately calculate the reaction time using the kinetic equation and then get other parameters such as volume, loading.Furthermore, we build up SBR process model using ASM1 which is recommended by IWQA to simulate the state of SBR. We suggest a new design method combining the kinetic model and sludge age method, along with SBR simulation, and develop software named WWTP for the integrated design. A case study demonstrates and proves the effect and practicability of this method and software.
