| The energy crisis and environment problems are more and more serious. To deal with this, positive and efficient measures must be taken. Fortunately, people have found some methods that worked well. In the field of automobile, adopting clean and renewable alternative fuels is an approach in great prospect. Dimethyl ether and biodiesel are looked up and lots of studies have been done.The properties data of the fuels are essential for computational studies, such as the studies with KTVA. The data of latent heat, saturated vapor pressure, liquid viscosity, surface tension, thermal conductivity, enthalpies etc. must be added into the code's fuel library. In this paper, a series of predicting methods were collected. By comparing, the methods easy to use and with high accuracy were adopted. At last some programs for the estimation of the properties were written in Fortran77. With these programs, the data of fuel properties in large temperature range were obtained. By analyzing and comparing, these fuels were knew further. Basing on this, the limitations in application of new fuels were analyzed.Aided with the KIVA-3V code, this paper studied the combustion performace and emissions of 1105 engine fueled with diesel, DME, biodiesel and DME/biodiesel blends. To decrease the NO_X emission of biodiesel, three different types of combustion chamber were simulated and three blends DME10, DME15 and DME20 were adopted in study. At last, some important conclusions were drawn by analyzing the simulation results. |
