High performance magnetic composites fibers are prepared by loading magnetic particles into the fiber lumen, then manufacture magnetic paper by papermaking process. Magnetic paper have magnetism response, magnetic recording, security functions, these have important effect on the developing application field of cellulose, increasing new variety of specialty and improving theory and technology levels of ours papermaking industry.Magnetic pulp fibers were prepared by loaded magnetic particles into fiber lumen, then making magnetic paper according to papermaking process in this paper. The main factors affecting lumen-loading degree of magnetic particles were researched respectively. Pulp fiber length was researched by Kajaani FS-2000 fiber analyzer , the fiber structure and magnetic paper properties were detected by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM).The results are as follows:1.The optimum condition of making magnetic paper using lumen loaded are soft wood pulp, stirring speed 2500 r/min, Alum consistency 0.075g/l, PEI amount 5mg/g (o.d.p), beating degree 29oSR, stirring time 30min, treating time 4h, Fe3O4amount 2:1 (o.d.p);2. The most optimum fiber loading length is 0.69-2.02mm;3. SEM micrograph confirms that magnetic particles were distributed into the fiber lumen; the remanent magnetization (Mr) increase by magnetic loaded degree and the coercive force (HC) is depended on the magnetic particle size according to the hysteresis loops.4. The optical property of magnetic paper has relevant with color and amount of magnetic particle loaded in the fiber lumen. The physical strength was less than basic pulp paper, because the loss of some fiber and magnetic particle which weren't cleaned out adhere on the surface on the long fiber that decrease the link area between fibers,and lead to the decrease of paper strength finally.
