Research On The Chromaticity Of Cotton/Chitin Blended Fiber

Chitin is the most abundant natural polymers on the planet except the cellulose; so far it is the only animal cellulose with positive charge found in nature.Spinning chitin yarn is more difficult,mixing cotton fibers with a certain proportion of chitin fiber not only increase chitin fiber spinning,and lower the cost,but also improve the performance of cotton fabrics,increase antibacterial,deodorant and other health care properties.However,as chitin and cotton have the different molecular structure,resulting in uneven dyeing when using the same dye,greatly hamper the applications of cotton/chitin blended fabric.Through experiments we confirm even dyeing technics of cotton/chitin blended fabric,adopt two methods:cotton cationic and chitin amino protection.In the study of cationic modified cotton,we respectively discuss the impact of modifier's concentration,modification time,temperature and pH.Ultimately we confirm the best modification process:modifier concentration:2 g / L,pH:11～12, reaction temperature:60℃,reaction time:30 min.In the study of chitin amino protection process,we respectively discuss the impact of different protection agents,different reactive dyes and different removal ways of the protection agents.Ultimately we choose Salicylaldehyde as the protection agents,confirm using dilute sulfuric acid to remove Schiff.At the same time we also study dyeing's influence to the antimicrobial effects of chitin,considering the influence of different reactive dyes,the amount of dye and pH value.After dyeing the results showed that without modification the fabric's antimicrobial ability is greatly reduced,but the modification fabric's antimicrobial ability changes little.Through the analysis of this issue,we have a deep study of chitin/cotton blended fabric dyeing and finishing process.We can anticipate the problems about even dyeing and dyeing's influence to the antimicrobial effects of chitin to enhance the chitin products' property.
