Research On Ultra-Precision Diamond Mirror Turning Carbon-Steel By Using Ultrasonic Vibration

With the development of the science and technology, especially in the aerospace, phonics, communication, bioengineering and micro electronics, there is a more strict requirement for the performance of some materials.For some workpieces with specific materials and complex shapes ,it is difficult to use the conventional machining method to make due to heavy cutting power,high cutting temperature,sever tool wear and poor surface roughness,Therefore, non-traditional machining is developed rapidly.One of them is ultrasonic machining technology. It emerged in the last century. Ultrasonic machine is an effective technology which is based on physics, electronics, mechanics and materials science. With the development of the technology, it is indicated that ultrasonic technology has provided an huge help to improve the quality of product ,ensure the safety of manufacture and the equipment operational, reduce the costs of production,increase efficiency and so on .Now it is already entered into national defense and economy,science and technology , people's life and other domains.In this thesis ultrasonic vibrating system is set up. Firstly, the modals of generator, transducer and ultrasonic amplitude amplifier are chosen based on parameter selection and match optimal match condition.Secondly, the amplifer pole and the whole ultrasonic vibration system are analyzed by using FEM (finite element analysis) method. To obtain the vibration modal and the intrinsic frequency of transformer, modal analysis is applied to the transformer. To acquire the swing magnification factor and clamping point, pole harmonic response analysis is made on the transformer. then an equipment is designed to install the ultrasonic vibration system on super-precision lathe based on the clamping point.Finally , several aluminum and Stavax die steel workpieces will be cut by using YG8, PCD and diamond tools to find the optimum parameters. The results indicate that cutting using ultrasonic can achieve better surface quality, less tool wear than generic turning,we also can get the Stavax mirror for die steel.
