With the prosperous development and wide application of Mechatronics, It has a great need for high-quality personnel in Mechatronics in our society. After doing much research for the basic theory in Mechatronics, this paper developed a suit of open and comprehensive experimental system based on practical NC system. It can be used in practical manufacture and provide open and comprehensive experiments.Firstly, this paper gave the concept to design an experimental system which syncretizes the NC system and PLC, by doing the research for Mechatronics technologies at home and abroad, particularly the development of NC system, PLC and mechatronics experimental status.Secondly, the control object in the experimental system is a vertical machining center. This paper discussed its structure, decided its control mode:" Taiwan HUST-H4 CNC + Mitsubishi FX2N64MT PLC ".Thirdly, through the research for typical Mechatronics system structure, function and common key technologies, this paper determined the whole program, discussed the structure and function of each part, decided the research methods and ways to achieve the system, finally made the hardware and software plans for the control system.Fourthly, according to the control system program, this paper specifically designed the electrical circuits and software. From the production and experimental perspective, this paper designed the power supply circuit, principal axis and its motor control circuit, I/O distribution circuits, the switch circuit between production and experiment. Meanwhile, this paper also came up with some innovative design ideas, brought forward a better human-machine interaction method, programmed the interior PLC, and realized the integration of Taida NC systems and Mitsubishi PLC.Finally, this paper designed the training projects of the experimental system, including the structure display of vertical machining center, NC experiments, PLC experiments, digital circuit demonstration and so on. By the experiments, we made a good use of the function of the experimental system.
