Electron beam welding of titanium alloy ZTC4 was investigated in this paper. The effect on welding seam formation for Ti-alloy EB welding parameters is analysed.The mechanical property of the joint for Ti-alloy EB welding are appraised through the comparison of room temperature mechanical property of the EB welding and argon arc welding.The research shows that the root defect in the weld seam is weakened and even eliminated, the formation of welding seam and mechanical property is improved ,also the melt metal solidification are delayed and the porosity are easily floated to the surface with certain parameters of EB welding, when wave type,frequency and oscillating value are executed. In some circumstance it can effectively reduce the porosity, even refining crystal grain while eliminating the stud-shape flaws.From the research we find out that the strength of the root is nearly the same to the base material with the method of EBW applying on the ZTC4 Ti-alloy when testing the rack occurred away from the centre line of the welded seam. With the welded seam purified by EWB, the strength of the root is much better than the manual argon tungsten-arc welding. Welding stress and welding deformations are the main factors that affect the structure and manufacture processing.it can also cause welded joint deficiency such as cold-crack,hot-crack. In some conditions it is hamful to the crack character, fatigue resistance, shaped size accuracy.Some of the the governing factors caused by local-heating such as welding stress and welding deformations. In this thesis the essayist present the effective method which use assembly tack weld fixture to fix the part for the controlling of the welding stress and welding deformations to reduce structure's welding deformation.With the help of the vacuum formed method to reduce welding stress and calibrate the shape of the parts. The main problem in the Ti alloy welding is porosity. From the research we find out that the effective way to reduce it is the clearance before the welding.From the studis and optimization we find out the parameters about the Ti-alloy EBW and exert it in the production with a good effect.
