With the gradual popularization of NC technology, NC machining simulation and optimization technology has become more and more widely applied. To raise the efficiency of NC machining has already become nowadays one of the important research topics of the machine manufacturing. Simulation of the machining process through computer can carry on the NC machining of parts in the virtual environment before true manufacturing. Thus, it can check if the NC program is correct and rational, optimize the cutting parameter automatically. As a result, it shortens product development cycles, reduce production cost and improve product quality and production efficiency.Based on collecting and learning a lot of relevant data and papers, this paper carries analysis and studies on the cutting parameter optimization about NC turning simulation in view of the problem that geometric simulation of NC machining based on cutter location not consider cutting parameter.This paper studies the extraction and storage problems of NC programming cutting parameters and presents an extraction and storage method of the cutting parameters based on analyzing the NC program and NC lathe programming features. To make the extracted parameters as the optimization target, and use cutting empirical formula to establish the optimization goal model and constraint conditions of cutting parameters. To use Complex Method to design the solving program and design a method to make up for the shortcoming that Complex Method may converge to the local minimum points. A method is used to save the optimized cutting parameters into the NC program by adding the program fields. After the above steps, the NC program which drives the turning simulation is optimized.Based on the above research, a NC machining cutting parameter optimization system has been developed with Visual C++.NET 2003 design tool. This system can finish extracting, optimizing and saving the NC technological parameter with a visual interface. A tools database is designed against the needs of data and information management to the system. It uses ADO technology to achieve management and transfer of the tools information. Finally, an example of the system is tested to verify the effectiveness and accuracy of this research methods and arithmetic.
